SPRINGboard Reading Series:

Launched in 2011, SPRINGboard is GSC's new works reading series. This program also allows Gotham an avenue to scout new talent and match them up with professional theatre artists and to present a reading of their work to an Off-Broadway audience. Following the readings, audience feedback is received via moderated talk-backs with the director and playwright.

SPRINGboard is made possible by the generous support of our program sponsor, The Bacardi Company.

BarnStorm Retreat:

Launched in 2011, BarnStorm is a week-long artists retreat in upstate NY. Interested playwrights and directors submit a proposal nominating a specific play/project/idea for inclusion. Selected plays are developed and nurtured in small groups with the week culminating in an informal presentation of each project to the broader group. The intent of the BarnStorm retreat is to serve as an incubator for new work in the hope that many will then move on to one of Gotham's downstream development programs, such as the SPRINGboard series, a workshop, or a fully-staged production.

Gotham is seeking a corporate or foundation sponsor to partner with on the BarnStorm Retreat on an ongoing basis. Initial retreat funded by GSC's Operating Fund.
